Fundraiser Items are going to be delivered WEDNESDAY 9-26-8! Please make arrangements to pick up your child from school. There will be an FFA meeting after school until 5-5:30pm for your convenience of picking up students. Agriculture Update: Students will be starting their projects on historical figures/inventions in agriculture. They are going to create a copy size sheet of paper flyer about their person or invention. It will need to be typed. They will be using the ipads during class to look up the information and create their documents in OneDrive. If students are able to print them at home, please have them do so when it is time to. FFA Update: Students attending the COLT conference tomorrow need to meet at the Volusia County Farm Bureau office parking lot at 6:20am. (3090 E New York Ave, DeLand, FL 32724) Students need to be in their official dress. If they need a jacket and scarf or tie they need to see me by the end of the day today. Please remember to bring money for a snack as we will be stopping before we get on I-4. The students will call you when we leave the facility and again when we cross into Seminole county. Please be advised that we will be leaving the facility around 3:30 and with traffic we are unsure of what time we will be getting back. Students lunch was covered in the cost of registration. Please make sure to eat breakfast or bring it with you in the morning. There is an FFA Meeting Wednesday after school! Until 5:30! Make sure to have your students picked up by then, their fundraising items will be in. Congrats to those who showed at East Coast Classic over the weekend. Great Job! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I did, because the Gators WON! (Chomp! Chomp!) Our class website is UPDATED! Please check it! ((www.deltonamiddleffa.com)) I try to update it every couple days! So please check it constantly! You can find missing work, archived messages, and photos of events we’ve attended. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up from school. It is not a wise to make them take it on the bus. We will have an FFA meeting after school until 5:30pm in which you can pick up your child during that time if they are not in FFA. Agriculture Class Update: This week in class we will be exploring the history of agriculture, and tilling the soil throughout the decades. Students are doing a baiting today and collecting information. Tomorrow we will be switching, and doing some activities with history as well. Test Corrections from last week – if a student wishes to remediate their test. A copy of the test can be found on the class website along with the notes for the students to use. In order for the students to remediate they need to tell me why the got their answer wrong and write the correct answer and circle it. FFA Update: Next Meeting is Sept. 26th. 2018 COLT is Tuesday, September 25. I have one spot left. First student to turn in their $25 will be able to go. We will be meeting at the Volusia County Farm Bureau/4H parking lot ( this is off SR 44, right off i-4, in front of the fairgrounds) at 6:20am. You need to have had breakfast, have money for a snack on the way home. Lunch will be provided and you need to be in official dress. I have FFA Jackets and Scarves/Ties for you to use. But you NEED to be in the rest of official dress. Boys: Black Slacks and White Button Up or Polo, Black Socks, and Black Dress Shoes! Girls: Black Skirt(appropriate length 1-2 inches above the knee) Black Pantyhose, Black Closed Toe Heels, or Flats! We are not sure of our return time, due to I-4 traffic. We will have students call when we are leaving the facility and when we cross over into Seminole County. We will return to the same drop off location. It was nice seeing all of you at the Open House last week. Agriculture Classes: Grades have been entered yesterday and today throughout all my classes, so please check tonight for those. Student have had multiple time to complete assignments. They have had multiple opportunities to get their notebooks up to date. I explained to them if their assignments weren’t in their notebooks, they were not going to be graded. There is a master copy of what your student’s notebook should look like on my desk that they can refer to at any time. A copy of the power points are posted on our class website (www.deltonamiddleffa.com) They will wrap up their FFA unit tomorrow. They took their FFA test today, some need to finish tomorrow, it was an open note test. I will initial with updated grades on their interim reports on Friday or Monday if needed. If you have any old magazines at home please send them in with your child. We will be using them next week. There is still time for your student to become a member of FFA. We are currently the only leadership club on campus, that will help develop your students into great leaders, with out them even knowing it. FFA News: COLT (Chapter Officer Leadership Training): I have 4 spots open to any FFA member who wishes to attend COLT on Sept. 25th. It is an all day trip that we will bus to Haines City to the FFA Leadership Training Center. The students will participate in workshops with other members from our area and develop their leadership skills. They do not have to be an officer to fill these last 4 spots, but we hope to fill them with anyone interested in becoming an officer in the future. The cost is $25 which includes lunch. They will need to wear official dress. The first 4 kids to bring in their $25 will be the ones who get to attend. I will be in my room before school at 8:15 tomorrow.
